1. You Drink Less Than Others:
An ophthalmologist and the board member of the American Optometric Association, Christopher Quinn says that “an undeniable conclusion of the study is that the people with light iris drink more.”
The study about which he speaks is a Georgia State University survey of 12000 of men and women. In the study, the researchers analysed that ‘there is a real relation between eye colour and alcohol consumption.’
From the study, the researchers noted that the relationship between eye colour and alcohol consumption enroots from ‘greater sensitivity to alcohol and some medications in dark-eyed individuals. Moreover, the connections between the emotional and arousal centres of the brain and eye colour.
2. You Are More Trustworthy Than Others:
In the study published in the journal named ‘PLOS ONE’, the participants have asked 238 volunteers to rate the person’s trustworthiness on the base of his or her eye colour. The authors note that’ Eye colour had a significant effect.’ However, the authors also stated that ‘they were a bit less certain whether the other facial features like chin, jaw, and brow also influenced the results.’
Then the researchers concluded that “It was not brown eye colour per so that it caused the stronger perception of trustworthiness in dark colour eyes people but rather the facial features associated with person’s brown eyes.”
The facial features include larger eyes, bigger mouths, broader chins. According to the authors, these features also corrected with the trustworthiness of a person. In the results, the researchers conclude that the people with dark colour eyes are more trustworthy than people with light colour eyes.
3. You Have Healthier And Beautiful Eyes:
As per the study published in Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, the people with light- colour eyes develop macular degeneration twice than the people with dark-colour eyes. It is the condition which results in blurred or no vision in the centre of the visual field. It means that people with dark colour eyes have healthier and beautiful eyes.
Ophthalmologists say that its reason is that dark colour iris block U.V light more effectively than the light colour iris. We all know that U.V light is the risk factor for the development of several eye-related problems. It may also lead to worse vision while ageing.
