Yeah, it is a big bad world out there, and happily-ever-after is a fairytale which never sees the light of reality. But the thing about reality is that it has got its fair share of surprises and shocks for you in store, just waiting to unleash them, at the right time!
The world of Disney has managed to bridge the gap between the fairy world and the world of Global Warming in the course of Cinderella, Ariel, Rapunzel, and all the Elsa. But unbeknownst to most of the audience, the makers concoct these masterpieces with the recipes of reality, which are popularly termed as Easter Eggs. The world of enchantment won’t look much of a figment of imagination after we divulge in these relatable pockets, much akin to our normal life!
FROZEN PARENTS SET SAIL FROM ARENDELLE
NOT JUST THE FACES, BUT THE PLACE
TWO WORLDS, ONE FAMILY
Now, this is for the people still scoffing at these theories. The Directors themselves admitted to the fact that the arendelle parents didn’t die in the shipwreck, they washed up in a nearby jungle and eventually found their way home and the queen gives birth to a baby boy. Chris Buck the director of Frozen and Tarzan confirms that the ship again diverges from its Scandinavian route into the tropical regions of the world. This time round the parents finally succumbed to death, leaving the little boy as an orphan. So yes, you are correct, Tarzan is indeed the brother of Elsa and Anna.
ANOTHER SHIP, ANOTHER KING
The era of Ariel, Cinderella had plenty of Easter eggs in their garden before Tangled, Frozen and Tarzan opens their boulevard of Easter eggs. We all are aware how the malicious witch Ursula tricks Prince Eric into marrying her by stealing Ariel’s voice. The wedding and festivities here include the King and the Grand Duke from the world of Cinderella!
MORE WEDDINGS AND SPOTTINGS!
Grandiose weddings, confetti, glittering unions are all that makes up the Disney Universe. We already know that the king and queen of Arendelle were travelling to attend a wedding, as confirmed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. But no confirmation about the particulars of the wedding was revealed. However, it could be the bride and groom of Corona aka Rapunzel and Flynn or Cinderella’s even.
UNDER THE SEA OR OUT OF THE SEA?
The sea connections: Besides the obvious motif of breaking free Moana and Ariel both confined to their homes for most of the part of their life, pants for freedom and in sets out to do the same in their ways. The Easter Egg here is introduced by the tropical wonder, Flounder who appears in Maui’s little song!
A TWINKLE OF A TINK!
TinkerBell’s appearance in The Black Cauldron is another one of those Easter Eggs that we have hatched since the beginning of our journey!
ONE HOOK OF A TAIL!
The cross over of Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid can only lead to an overload of enchanted beings, i.e. fairies, mermaids, pirates etc. This merger has also resulted in finding a piece of the puzzle for Ariel. Her mother, Athena, was said to have been killed by pirates. And while Captain Hook may have turned back from the dark side in the hit series Once Upon A Time, Disney still depicts him as the main bad guy in Peter Pan.
THE DESCENDANT AND THE TEA POT
The appearance of Mr Potts and Chips in Tarzan! A popular theory states that Jane Potter is a direct descendant of Belle’s, and inherited the tea set. What she also inherited, was Belle’s skills in handling strange creatures such as the Beast. Tarzan was, too, an animal-like character, and Jane has Belle to thank for her natural communication skills. To add to that they’ve their uncanny resemblances. How they’re related and why she brought the heirloom with her is still a mystery, though.
THE FAVORITE PART, YOU’LL SEE
As we were introduced to Belle, we have a simultaneous realisation of the world of Aladdin, with the allusions to the “Far-off places, daring swordfights, magic spells, a prince in disguise!” which was about to make its appearance on the big screen the very next year.
THE GODS OF THE SKY AND THE SEA IN DISNEY
The world of fantasy meets the world of myths and how so, Poseidon the all mighty controlling the seas is the father of Triton, who is as we all know the father of Ariel. The family tree also bears branches to Hercules, son of Zeus!
THE BLONDE BOND
Okay, we already know that Disney is pretty sneaky. I mean, how much detail can you put into the characters and their significant links to each other? Here’s one, for instance: hair! In the stereotypical world that we live in today, blondes are perceived as dumb people. But Disney has a way of debunking these stereotypes, and they did it with Rapunzel and Elsa
Disney is known for its sneakiness, and the proof lies in Elsa and Rapunzel. The stereotypical notion considers blondes as dumb beings and Disney debunks this notion through the valiant and witty and sassy portrayal of both the heroines. The Golden hue is a motif of power which plays out in all of the directions.
THE PROTECTIVE PARENTS PREDICAMENT
The Strict Parent syndrome is ubiquitous in all its glory. Doorless towers, 24/7 guardians, locked up rooms the parents leave no stones unturned to protect their cherished little ones.
Even if we are reluctant to believe these theories we cannot honestly disregard the fecundity oozing out of their makers which have managed to keep us hooked and in the loop for decades!!
