Beetroot Home Remedies For Improved Hair Growth

Nature is full of treasures, and one of those treasures is beetroot. A characteristic feature of salads all over the world, beetroot is considered to be a superfood by many. Its deep, earthy flavour and crunchy texture make people fall in love while its numerous health credentials make them stay. It is quite beneficial for the skin and the hair too. Beetroot and Avocado Hair Mask

Ingredients: Pulp of one avocado, three tablespoons of flaxseeds, 1 cup of diced beetroot, & 1 cup of water.

Method: Mix flaxseeds gel into the water and boil the mixture for two minutes. Strain it and let the resultant gel cool down. Blend beetroot and flaxseed gel in the blender on high speed for one minute. Now, add the avocado to the mixture and blend it on high speed for 30 seconds to make a paste. Put this paste on your hair, put your hair in a bun and then leave it like that for 30 minutes. Wash it off with shampoo as usual. For best results, do this once a week.

How this works: Enriched with anti-oxidants and the whole lot of omega three fatty acids, beetroot works as a purifying agent by detoxifying the hair and nourishing it from the inside. It also adds shine and volume to the hair. If you use this mask regularly, the overall health of hair will improve, and fizz will be reduced.

Beetroot and Henna Powder

Ingredients: 1 cup of diced beetroot, 1 cup of henna powder, ½ cup of milk, & 2 tablespoons of gooseberry powder.

Method: Blend the diced beetroot in a blender on high speed for 1 minute. Now, extract the juice from this paste by putting it in a strainer and pressing it with a spoon. Mix ½ cup of this beetroot juice with henna powder, gooseberry powder and milk slowly to make a paste with no lumps. Now, wrap the mixture in a plastic wrap for around two hours. Put this mixture on hair for three hours and then wash it off with shampoo. For best results, follow this home remedy once a month.

How this works: The point of making this hair mask is to use it as a natural hair dye. Beetroot is famous for its incredible pink colour, and following this remedy will dye your grey and white hair with a red tint. The henna in this mixture helps in colour development while the milk is a part of the mixture due to the nourishment it provides to the hair.

Beetroot Smoothie

Ingredients: ½ cup of diced beetroot, ½ cup of diced carrot, one tablespoon of chia seeds, 1 cup of Greek yoghurt, & ½ cup of coconut water.

Method: Blend the diced beetroot in a blender on high speed for 30 seconds and then add everything else in the blender to blend on high speed for 1 minute. Your nutritious smoothie is ready which you should drink twice a week.

How this works: Beetroot is a storehouse of vitamins and minerals which keeps your body healthy, and aids in your hair growth, especially vitamin A and C. It also nourishes your hair follicles. The other components of this smoothie are no less as chia seeds, and Greek yoghurt is full of fatty acids while coconut water has ample amounts of vitamin E.

Beetroot Salad

Ingredients: 1 cup of diced beetroot, 1 cup of broccoli florets, 1 cup of boiled sweet potatoes, ½ cup of mayonnaise, ½ cup of chopped baby tomatoes, one tablespoon of flaxseeds powder, ½ cup of chopped almonds, ½ cup of chopped walnuts, & 1 teaspoon of oregano seasoning.

Method: Add peeled boiled sweet potatoes and mayonnaise to the blender to blend on high speed for 30 seconds to get a smooth paste. Take the broccoli florets, the carrots, the diced beetroot and the tomatoes in a bowl, and add the sweet potato paste to it. Add the nuts and then mix the ingredients well. Season the salad with the oregano seasoning and the flaxseeds powder. This healthy salad should be consumed twice a week.

How this works: Anti-oxidants are present in copious amounts of beetroot. It is a well-known detoxifying agent that purges the digestive system entirely. This leads to better absorption of vitamins, minerals, and protein by the body. Almonds and walnuts contain ample fats while broccoli is an excellent source of vitamin C. The presence of carrots enhances hair growth as it contains carotenoids.

Beetroot and Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

Ingredients: 1 cup of beetroot juice, ½ cup of apple cider vinegar, & 1 cup of water.

Method: Mix the beetroot juice, apple cider vinegar and water to prepare the rinse. Use this rinse to wash your hair and massage it into the scalp for 5-10 minutes. Wash off with plain water and use a mild shampoo.

How this works: This hair rinse is one of the best ways to fight the flakes and dirt present in the hair. Using this hair rinse regularly will deep-cleanse your scalp and remove the dandruff flakes.
