Are you always in a hurry? Do you always have a fear of not applying your makeup correctly or smudging your eye makeup in particular? Well, then you might not be following the correct technique to do your eye makeup. At times it happens that you are so doubtful about your eye makeup that you constantly have to touch it up. Therefore, you end up reapplying your makeup 8-10 times in a day which not only consumes your precious time but also is not good for your skin. So, what can be done then?
You probably don’t wish to walk around looking like a raccoon with all the smudged eyeliner and mascara. And trust us, you won’t either. The YouTube makeup queen, Stephanie Lange’s tried and tested eye makeup technique is here to save you from the smudging drama.
Eyeliner’s rival? Oil!!
In her tutorial, YouTube makeup queen, Stephanie Lange shares the reason for smudging of mascara and eyeliner. One reason being the use of cheap products, and the other being our eyelids’ natural oils.
Whereas there is nothing you can do to permanently get rid of those natural oils, there are some temporary ways through which you can nullify the effect of those oils and make your makeup stay a lot more longer. As per Stephanie, dotting on some full coverage foundation (Matte one) and sealing that in with a translucent powder will serve your purpose.
This will provide you a smooth oil-free base to work upon.
Additional tip: It is suggested to apply the foundation with a beauty blender and not with your hands. You’ll get the best results in this way.
After you’re done with this step, proceed with your normal eye makeup routine. Whatever makeup style you pick, from smokey eyes to a nude makeup look, you’re sure of one thing that your natural oils will not come in way to ruin your makeup.
Before stepping out of your house, make sure to carry a blending brush and some translucent powder into your purse. Because you never know when you might need it.
If your face is extra oily, or if you live in a humid climate, make sure to dab some powder over your eyelids from time to time just to make sure that your entire makeup stays in place for as long as you desire. And it is anyway better than doing your entire eye makeup multiple times in a day. Isn’t it?
