Dating myths-Dating and relationships can become confusing with the myths and false statements created by people.
Dating myths no. 1 – MEN DISLIKE WOMEN WHO ASK THEM OUT FIRST.
According to a website Match.com, there were about 18% women on the site who didn’t try to make the first move and start the conversation with men. But, if the reason behind such a mindset is that you’ll be called desperate or fast then, according to another survey, 90% men on match.com did not have any problem with women messaging them first. Instead, they were very comfortable with it.
Myth no. 2 – JOURNALING YOUR POST-BREAKUP THOUGHTS CAN HELP YOU TO MOVE ON.
Of course, mentioning your sorrows and pain in a journal won’t help you to get over your ex. Instead, you feel more emotionally week when you scribble down your post-breakup thoughts.
Instead, you can opt for “Redemptive Narrative” if you want to help yourself to get over your ex. It’s a story which narrates how you have grown up to be a better person by moulding your sorrows and pains into a happy and learning experience.
Myth no. 3. – MAKE YOUR FEELINGS INSTANTLY CLEAR IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN SOMEONE.
Rather than taking ” honesty is the best policy” in this situation, try opting for ” hard to get” policy. Presenting your feelings openly to the person you love can be useful but, not every time.
Myth no. 4 – YOU WILL KNOW YOUR PARTNER INSIDE OUT, OVER TIME.
Many couples believe that the more time they tend to stay together, the more they know about each other. For them, a more extended relationship is equally proportional to more accuracy of knowledge about their partner. But, according to a study, it is not necessary that you tend to know your partner more if you have been in a long relationship.
Myth no. 5 – WOMEN ARE MUCH MORE ROMANTIC THAN MEN.
It is often misbelieved that it’s the women who are more romantic. But, according to a study, it is believed that women fear to confess their love in a heterosexual relationship. It is the men who said ” I love you” first.
So, do not let these stereotypes bound your love. Set it free.
