Ginger For Nourishment Of Hair & Body

Ginger, one of the compulsory ingredients of the Indian kitchen, is well-known for its medicinal properties apart from its use as a spice in Indian cuisine. From traditional Ayurvedic medicine to ancient Chinese practices, ginger is a natural remedy that finds its place for everything. Right from cosmetic issues to menstrual pains, weight loss to digestive disorders, heart diseases to muscle pain, you name it, and ginger can cure it.   1. Ginger works miracles for hair growth, hair loss, and premature greying of hair. The simplest way to improve hair growth is to rub ginger on the scalp. Having ginger juice on a daily basis provides ample vitamins and minerals for hair nourishment. You can prepare a ginger mask using ginger, coconut oil or jojoba oil that can be applied once a week. Mix grated ginger juice with coconut oil or jojoba oil, and massage it onto the scalp. After 30 minutes, wash it off with a mild shampoo. Another method is to rub a mixture of ginger juice, sesame oil, and lemon juice onto the scalp three times a week.                                                                                            
  2. If you want to get rid of dandruff, ginger is a sure-shot cure as it is known to remove itching of the scalp, thwarts fungus growth, and cleans the scalp. Apply a mixture of grated ginger pulp and olive or sesame oil on the scalp for 20 minutes. Using the mild shampoo, rinse it off several times.                                                           
  3. Choc-a-bloc with anti-oxidants, ginger slows down breakage of collagen which reduces wrinkles, dull complexion and sagging – signs of ageing. Regular intake of a cup of warm ginger tea with honey in the morning and massaging of skin using grated ginger will give you unprecedented results.                                      
  4. The anti-oxidants in ginger are known to have a healing effect on scars and smoothens the skin tone. To reduce the scar, use cotton balls soaked in ginger juice on the affected area for 10 minutes.                                             
  5. The anti-inflammatory properties of ginger can help you fight acne. Applying cotton balls soaked in ginger juice on the affected area reduces swelling and redness while decreasing the bacteria.                                          
  6. Due to the anti-oxidants in ginger, it reduces the cellulite as it decreases the rate of collagen breakdown. Apply a scrub mixture of half cup of sugar, two tablespoons of olive or almond oil, two tablespoons of grated ginger, and one tablespoon of lemon juice on the cellulite-affected areas during bathing.

Famed for its rejuvenating properties, restoration of sexual energy, and healing liver, ginger has a warming effect on the body. It should not be used in cases of high fever and bleeding.
